Has anyone noticed...
I guess since Super Comp is not at Englishtown this year and since all those dragsters fit so easily into Super Gas, they are allowing 10 more entries into Super Gas this year. Remember, you could get into Super Gas last year with like a 2 or 3 and in Super Street you needed a 4 or 5 and yes, Super Street's quota is the same as it was last year with a whopping 60 entries.
So I'm guessing no one in Cali looks at the Event Statistics on their own website? The only reason I can see keeping the quota low is to not have Super Street become a 7 round class if there is 65 or more entries. 1 extra round = 1 extra round for the payout Kelli 1236 S/ST

Re: Has anyone noticed...
I would like to think that there is a very good reason for them to do what they do, but I sure as hell can't figure it out. I got into S/G last year w/ a grade 2. I don't think a grade 5 will make it in S/ST this year. I wish someone from NHRA could explain the reasons for doing the things they do, some things just don't make sense!

If gas and diesel keep going up grade points may not be an issue.
I got into sst at etown last year with a 4. No reason to think it would be much different this year. And since they have no intention of rescinding my oil down penalty, that's one more car that will get in-- 'cause I ain't payin'.

Re: Has anyone noticed...
The mention of not paying the oil down penalty must be contagious.
At the last national event I was at I talked to two others who said the same thing. One had received the penalty at a earlier race and was just watching. The other did it at that race not once but twice with a tranny leak. Makes you wonder how many are not paying and just sitting it out. Maybe another thread is warranted to see what shows up. |
