Ryan, the dirt track is where the staging lanes are, when you come in at a bracket race the dirt track is on your rt side. from the nascar track through the back gate and up to the dirt track is a good haul. i would guess a mile too Chuck.

We are outside the gate waiting to get in. So I snapped a couple pictures. I hope they attach. It's at least 1.5 miles to the starting line.

Here you go.

A couple of people mentioned that it is just as far in the pits at Indy or St. Louis. That may be, but atleast you were aware that this might be the case before you came. We found out when we pulled in. Had we known, we might have packed an extra bike. We all had the opportunity to back out & apply fees to another race, but we came to race. If you're here with us, good luck & offer a crew member a ride if you see them walking!

I know that you surely don't have to cross and drive on a public street to get to the staging lanes at Indy or St. Louis. They are at Joliet this weekend.

Exclamation Re: Which gate to enter in Joliet

Having been parked next to the railroad tracks at Indy a couple of times, I'd rather have that drive to the lanes ,than the one the guys in Chicago will be doing this weekend . .........Tom

It was 2.6 miles from our pit area to the starting line. I was able to make it all the way there and back without refueling. Even on alcohol. It was sort of a pain, but really it was better than being in the mud. At least they have the option of putting us over there. I don't know what they would have done if they didn't have the other track. Probably send us all home. Hopefully things will dry out enough that we wont have to park over there for the points race.
