79 Firebird stock class
OK, getting ready to do my front end. Which A-arm bushings, Dell-a-lum or Afco?
Any direction on specifics or part #'s would be greatly appreciated. Also, ball joints, I know Afco makes some nice low friction ball joints. I've also heard people on here reference to extended upper ball joints, as well. Any good advice or direction there? Then the next is body bushings. I know the aluminum pucks from Jegs or CE are very reasonably priced. Then you need to reuse or replace the old bolts and use the old or get new rubber bushings and rework them for the top. Global West sells a nice set with both aluminum upper and lowers, with all new hardware. Pricey but looks well worth the cost to me. Any thoughts. Last, I have some good engine pieces. I don't really want to use up my good parts on the first effort. Yes, this will be an IHRA crate motor car. If anyone out there has a set of used /usable 350 sbc four valve relief 9:1 stocker pistons lying around the garage that you have no need of any longer. I might be interested. I'm considering building a mule/bracket engine. I have blocks, cranks, rods and an early Comp Cams crate motor cam. I would use this engine to work the kinks out of the car once it's done. IF it were built to stock standards and could at least hit the idex or a little under, at least I could attend some combo meets with the car.
