Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
Guys this build is a joy to follow along with. Great work!
Jeff, totally agree with your tire size choice. When we ran quick 8 dragster,we had 12' tires for good hitting tracks and 15's for garbage tracks. Not only where the 15's necessary for marginal tracks,it helped the "ride" down track. Jimmy |

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
consider experimenting with the "Cobra Head" ties. The design allows the cut off tail to lay flat against the wrapped section.

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
After a short slow down the building action is amping back up.
Coming soon is the electrical component mounting and wiring runs. This new item just in from Kevin Rodden [K & R Performance] showing his usual beautiful work. Introducing his new Pro-Cube with dial-in display! The two small connectors use fiber optic cable to send the display data. Way cool

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
Hot Rodding requires building one of a kind brackets, or in this case, two of a kind.
The roadster cockpit is tight or like Monte says, "real estate is limited" This is plan "D" for mounting the Holley EFI/data logger display, plus K & R switch panel, plus a panel for other controls.

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
This is our first time to utilize a 100 % duty cycle solenoid as the master cut-off control. While I initially had some reservations in talking with others who have this setup the feedback is good.
So, we'll give it a go.

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
Jeff had two good days of progress with roughing in wiring and working on other areas. Fuel plumbing and intake manifold completion are next.

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
Team Woodfin:
Really enjoying reading about your build. These forums can be such a great learning tool! You see things behind the scenes that you may not notice once the build is complete. Looking forward to hanging out with you guys and watching it go down the track. ps - for those who don't know the Woodfins personally I can tell you they are both a class act! |

Re: Team Woodfin's Bantam Roadster Build
Because of the tall deck block and sheet metal intake the manifold end rail gap is wider than usual. To correct that two 1/2" thick Delrin spacers are dowel pinned to the block. Now only a .035" gap requires sealing with RTV.
We have the body back on to check fit in several areas, one area being the dash panel. Once the templet is satisfied a panel of carbon fiber will take it's place. Also, race cars with EFI require extra wires
