67 Fairlane suspension help
I'm building a 67 Fairlane for a heads up class.
The rules state: * No wheelie bars. * Bolt on stock suspension only. * All suspension must bolt up in the factory OEM bolt holes with no relocation brackets. Cars equipped from the factory with transmission mounted torque arm may utilize an aftermarket front mount with bolt height as close to the OEM mount height as possible. * Aftermarket rear anti-roll bars are the only non factory type or welded on rear suspension part permitted. * Rear coil-overs not allowed. * All vehicles must retain the full factory frame rails. Notching for rear tire clearance is permitted. Notches must be on outside portion of frame only. I have a leaf spring rear suspension with a coil spring front suspension. My question is what advice can you guys give me for this setup. I don't want to waste money here I want proven results. I've heard about clamping the leafs, does that work? How about trick front springs & drag shocks. Any help here would be appreciated!

Re: 67 Fairlane suspension help
Keep it simple & call Calvert for springs & bars. Get the best shocks you can afford and if you can't afford the good shocks, save until you can.
Since the rules allow it, get an anti roll bar but it most likely isn't neccessary. In fact I just thought of this. Call Alex Denysenko of Money Maker Racing. He's a WD for Calvert and he'll get your front end set up at the same time. He's a member here.

Re: 67 Fairlane suspension help
I have a Mercury Montego which is similar to the Fairlane. I used Calvert for the leaf springs and bars, I used Strange for stock style double adjustable shocks. The Mustang shocks will work for front and rear.

Re: 67 Fairlane suspension help
Don't clamp your springs, Put a sway bar on the back. Get rear leafs and shocks from Calvert. Buy a good set of double adjustable shocks for the front. Is the the car a plain body if so you should stitch weld the complete car. Bumper to Bumper.

Re: 67 Fairlane suspension help
Yes it is. I did the same thing to my 85 Stang I had so I need to look at doing this to this one.
