Default Driveshaft

I am needing about a 3.5" diameter 57.5" long driveshaft that needs to go about 6500 rpm. The driveshaft people I've talked to say that a shaft that long' going that fast will be over the critical speed. I see lots of station wagons racing out there that don't seem to have any problems, what is everybody using at about this length?

Thanks

RJ, I had the same problem with my "slug" until I put a Dynotech drive shaft in it, cured the problem.
When I had the rubber filled drive shaft it did not shake, after the "Canadian Transmission" was installed, it took 3 drive shafts until I talked to the guys at Dynotech and bought one of there shafts.

4" diameter would be recommended for that length and speed. You can find a critical speed chart at www.markwilliams.com
