Default Roadster Assistance

Good morning all, I am currently looking at switching from a pro et door car to a corvette roadster to begin super gas racing. I have always thought they are one of the neatest drag cars and have always wanted one. I have found one in my price range ( please see https://www.racingjunk.com/super-gas...np_offset=7#24). Would this be a good starting point for myself and is this a reasonable deal? Thank you to anybody that is willing to lend me any advice and tips!

If I were you I would be looking for a Don Davis Corvette roadster.
I have a 57 DDRC Corvette roadster and is the Best car I have ever owned!!

Looking at the photos, I would tend to agree with Keith.. the chassis seems very much like the chassis of my 27 Roadster (Brogie style).. I'd also be questioning the age, if it has a ladder bar set up in it.. my car was built in '96, and has a 4-link rear suspension.. it was clear to see that there have been some updates, and the front suspension in a Roadster is a must.. don't be afraid of 2nd, 3rd, or even 4th opinions.. still a good price though if it works for you..

Thank you guys for taking the time to check it out! I am 1500 miles away from the car, so I would like as much professional input from super class racers that know the ins and outs of these cars. I have been in contact with the current owner, he says he ran low 8's with a bbc/power glide combo. I do know the price of newer/nice roadsters is out of my price range at the moment so i doubt this one is perfect. I just do not want to get stuck with a lemon with a cracked frame or suspension issues...

Grant someone on here if close can go look at it for you, I have done it a couple of times and those guys saved me from buying something that owner said it was but was not...where is the car at?

I know I went and looked at a couple of cars down here in Texas, one car was a 6.0 cert TS car, buyer reached out and went and looked at the car top to bottom even got underneath the car. Took 100 or so pictures for the buyer, he drove down from Michigan and bought the car, we met for lunch and celebrated his purchase.

If you do get the car it would be worth the time and effort to get Tom Goldman to give the car a once over for you.

Nick, the car is located in Fallon, Nevada. I was hoping someone on here might have seen the car run down the track. I believe the only track he ran at was the one in Fallon.

Thank you all again for the help and suggestions. After running some numbers I have realized I would be much better off finding a roadster ( not necessarily a corvette one) turn key and going that route. I will be putting an in search of in the classifieds but if anyone knows of one for sale in the 20-25k range let me know. Thanks again!

Certainly looks like a Brogie Mk3 chassis ,with a strut front end installed on it, It looks well built ,and I would not be afraid of a ladder bar car . Actually looks like a decent car for the price . And there are a lot of re bodied Brogies out there still winning races !!
