Re: MT pulls out of NHRA
One should read the entire article in the thread .
It states: Robinson continued, “We are not going to abandon all of our loyal customers and Team M/T Members as a result of this decision but we must do what is best for the Mickey Thompson brand. In the current economic climate we must partner with sanctioning bodies that embrace our participation and respect our investment in the sport. Mickey Thompson will continue its ‘Big Tire Development Program’ as it has already yielded a tremendous amount of technology that we have already applied to our current product offering.” Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels are popular in the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class and in all Sportsman classes, including Stock Eliminator, Super Stock, Competition Eliminator, Super Comp, Super Gas & Super Street classes. Mickey Thompson Motorsports will continue to support these NHRA racers through their “Team M/T” program. NHRA Racers can contact Carl Robinson at 800-222-9092 X3152 for more information.

Re: MT pulls out of NHRA
I still think NHRA's decision to mandate only one brand of tire is a very stupid move on their part! I hate to slam their decision without knowing their side of why they are doing this, but I have to say even when looking at the glass as still half full, I can't for the life of me figure out why they did this. If Hoosier is next to pull out, that would really suck!

Re: MT pulls out of NHRA
I think it is a shame that NHRA is again allienating another company that has supported and invested in our sport. It looks like they (NHRA) are forming mini monopoly's within this sanctioning body that will only benefit themselves. What happened to freedom of choice? Yes, the sportsman racer has the choice and luckily MT will still support us through their own program, but what about PS programs? Any way you look at it, it hurts the sportsman and pro racer.
As someone always says, "Just my 2 cents"
