Re: looking for some results from 66-69 super stock national
Found another entrant for A/SA at the 1969 Super Stock Nationals
1969 National Records A/S ....... 11.63 @ 121.29MPH A/SA .... 11.79 @ 120.52 MPH Eddie Taylor from Binghamton, New York - 1966 Belvedere Sedan '426 Street Hemi' (Post Car) A good artice about Eddie Taylor in June of 1969. His 1966 'A/SA' Belvedere 'Tri-Cities Hemi' was running 12.10's in early-1969 and then in June 1969 he put in a Tim Richard's (Scranton, Pennyslvania) built 727 Transmission. Quote, "We blew the Transmission at the Springnationals, so we decided to go with the best Transmission builder around in Tim Richards. I'm expecting expecting big things for the second-half of 1969, and I'm looking forward to the Super Stock Nationals at York, and the 'Big Stock Meet' at Maple Grove." The Belvedere {Sedan} was White with gold lettering '"Tri-Cities Hemi", and Fenton Shark Mag Wheels. Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 05-12-2013 at 02:18 PM. |

Re: looking for some results from 66-69 super stock national
Eddie,
In 1969, the (1966 thru 1969 Mopar cars) that would qualify for 'A/SA' { 7.50 - 7.99 Wt/Hp } 1966 Plymouth Belvedere or Satellite ... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Coronet or Coronet 500 ..... {426 Street Hemi} 1967 Plymouth GTX .................................. {426 Street Hemi} Dodge R/T ....................................... {426 Street Hemi} 1968 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX ..... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Super Bee or R/T ............... {426 Street Hemi} 1969 Plymouth Road Runner or GTX ..... {426 Street Hemi} Dodge Super Bee or R/T ............... {426 Street Hemi} Note; The 'lightest' of the '426 Street Hemi' B-Body cars, was the 1968 Road Runner (Pillared Coupe) at #3569 lbs., which factored in at (# 3569 lbs. ~ 465 HP) = 7.67 Wt/Hp Last edited by Paul Ceasrine; 05-13-2013 at 09:42 AM. |

Quote:
Cecil County never hosted the SS Nationals. They had their own "Factory Showdown" event which was also a pretty large independent event on it's own. |

Re: looking for some results from 66-69 super stock national
You are right, Paul....my memory must be going.
The race was run at Cecil in 67. We did win class at the SS Nats in 66, but, it was in NY. It was my cousin's aluminum nosed 64 Hemi Lightweight. Long time ago.....things must be getting fuzzy. Cars Magazine hosted an Annual Factory Showdown at Cecil County which was also a pretty large event. |

Re: looking for some results from 66-69 super stock national
Steve 1114,
They say the first thing to go 'Is the Mind', but I disagree....... No Harm, No Foul 2nd Annual Super Stock Magazine Nationals New York National Speedway - Center Moriches, Long Island August 5, 6 & 7 - 1966 S/S S/SA Have to check the list. Stock Classes only A/S and A/SA B/S and B/SA C/S and C/SA Lower classes were 'not' run at the 1966 Super Stock Nationals, which pissed off many supporters of Super Stock & Drag Illustrated Magazine.
