Default Trying Merge Collectors

Is there a formula when going from conventional collector's to a merge in reference to shortening the primary tube by how much to start on a 1 5/8" x 33" on a 4-1 header low HP Low RPM V8 - Thank's in advance any input is appreciated

We do not change primary length.

Ok I have been told bye a reputable Header Mfg that they should be shortened to take full advantage of the collector and I just didn't know how much but thank you for the response - John DID YOU find an improvement and if so immediately or did you make other changes as well - Thanks Bob

I’d recommend calling Mark Lelchook of Performance Welding. Based on your combination and current header he can get you pretty close. Highly recommend buying the collectors from him, they are a pure work of art.

I found 3 to 4 hundreds without any other changes

But don't get your heart broke if you don't see anything. Some combinations "like" them and others don't. For the money and hassle though (both of which are minimal) they're worth a try.

Larry Meaux.PipeMax. Best money you'll ever spend, if you're buying expensive headers and collectors because you're serious about power.

I wanted to put mine on the a coffee table rather than the race car. Great work!
