Mopar BB headers
I've got a '74 Duster w/383/727 and I need to replace the headers.
It has some very old fenderwell headers and I would like to change to something that maybe has at least some of the tubes inside the frame. I don't really want to spend the money that TTI's cost, is there another choice? I have heard that some "B" body 383 headers like Hooker/Hedman/Dynomax will fit in a BB Duster. Open to any and all opinions.

Re: Mopar BB headers
I use what is called the "Pro Parts" style headers on my 71 Demon (383 powered too) These are a semi underchassis header that has 2 tubes on the drivers side and 1 tube on passenger side that goes thru the fenderwell. They are 2" in diameter. You can get them thru Bob Mazzolini in California or thru Hensley Performance in Tennessee. I got mine from Herb McCandless MANY years ago,and they are still in excellent condition.I can install the headers myself, and you can put them in with the engine already in the car. With your fenderwells partially missing, these headers will fall in by themselves!! Another advantage is you can use a tall front tire,I use a 7.10x15 Moroso with no problems.

Re: Mopar BB headers
Welcome to the world of Mopar, too many people still think the only thing to race is Chebby, so no one makes what we need except for a few manufacturers. Especially headers. TTI was not available when I started racing so you had a Hedman street header, Hooker street header or race header. When I got serious about class racing I had a custom set made by Kromer Kraft. I have had them for over 10 yrs. Now I can get a Davis Step headers but at a price. If perfomance is not a factor then cheaper is better, but if not then spend the money and get a good set of custom headers.
