Default What Tyres should I run

Hey Guys, got a 225" Undercover Hardtail, 406 sbc, single 4bbl, Glide, 1.76 low, 4.29 gears, launch at 4200, runs 7000 in the lights, weighs 1550 lbs, runs 8.35 @ 153 mph, has 15 x 31 x13 G/years now, time for something new.
Any suggestions please.
Thanks

I'd throw a set of Hoosier 14 X 32 X 15's on that thing and go race.. It's a very common size and will last 100 runs.. or until that little gecko screams out "I have a flat tiya!!"... just kidding about the gecko...

Well Geoff, that depends, the guys running comp eliminator prefer to run the narrowest and lightest possible tire, because hard tail econo dragsters run a little quicker with lighter or high growth tires. Goodyear and Hoosier both make light and high growth tires for that purpose.
However if your a bracket or super class racer you can get better consistency on varying track surfaces with the largest tire that will fit on your rims.
I prefer the Hoosiers with the soft side wall on my hard tail S /C dragster but three a lot of ways "to skin that cat"
Good day!

Thanks guys, the issue with the Dragster is we run a lot of air (9lbs) and it gets up on the tyre quick but can suffer a bit at the top end with "not much" tyre on the race track.

So we are looking at a bigger tyre for a better footprint, and thanks for the info.

Hey Guys
Haven't changed tyres yet but we did this.
Advance from 28 to 34 deg, rpm shift point up 4800 launch, 7400 lights and went from Sunoco 112 to EXO2

New ET 8.111, speed 157.55, very happy, now gotta get tyres sorted.
Thanks
Geoff

Ask you hoosier dealer about item 18237, 13.5 x 31.5-15L which is a light weight tire in a similar size as you are running. The also make them in larger sizes but you may need a 14" or 15" wide rim and if you go up in diameter you may need to change the gear ratio.
Bigger tires won't make it faster they may actually slow you down slightly but they will be more consistent.
Check out Hoosiers website.
Your car et's well for the MPH
