ATI damper bolts loosened
A new ATI damper installed on 496 BBC. Damper fits tight on the crank and damper retainer bolt is tight.
There are no indications of any problems. However, the damper assembly bolts are all loose, one bolt completely out laying in the engine catch pan. Anyone have this happen? Loctite the bolt and watch closely? Other suggestions? PS, engine feels smooth. There is no usual feel or vibration.

Re: ATI damper bolts loosened
I think I see the problem. I did not realize the three pulley bolts must be installed, even if you are not running a pulley.
Maybe I have any easy fix.

Re: ATI damper bolts loosened
after install you could scribe a line across them and visually check periodicly to see that it's still lines up across the fastener.
