Default Crash past lights @ Wild Horse

Justin Jerome in his 73 Duster and John Dourlet in his 67 Belvedere II tangle past
the finish line.

They are OK but the cars are both in pretty bad shape!

I "Believe" it appeared to start when John blew up his engine.

Justin's car was his Dad's original Stocker and John's used to be Steve
Hagberg's factory (1 of 55) Hemi Race car.

Praise God that they both walked away = Scarry Crash!

Definitely could have been much worse. I was watching and saw the beginnings of the accident. Thank God that both drivers walked away.

Reminded me of Scott Burton's crash at Pacific Raceway a few years ago. He walked away and no other car was involved.

Always love it when the drivers can walk away from a crash. That is the most important part of any crash.

This really sucks for both sides, just glad no one is seriously hurt. I spent lots of weekends watching Steve out street racing with us in his Belvedere. Really fond of that car.

Justin is looking for another Duster or Dart to buy as
his is a total loss. He would be interested complete or rolling.

Engine failure? I'm seeing people saying something failed on an Accusump- seal, plumbing, etc.

I didn't see it so I don't know.

Asking because if it was, it gets added to the list of things to pay attention to.

of course i dont really know. But i was watching live. So if that was a factory hemi car then it had 6cyl. frt. suspension parts. An it looked to me right off that a front susp. part broke. I have seen that happen back in the 70s, but of course i dont know this situation.

I read this elsewhere and it was posted by a racer who is also a member of this site.

Finish line WRECK D7 Race #1 drivers okay! John Dourlet and Justin Jerome tangled at the finish line after the accusump of Dourlet’s 1967 Hemi Belvedere II (real deal; one-of-55) lost pressure onto the track. Dourlet hit the right wall and spun into Jerome who also spun and I believe hit the left wall. Normally I would not want to post on something like this but wanted to set the record straight, Dourlet did not hit brakes and spin, nor did his engine blow. Completely freak accident and Thank you GOD the drivers came out with no injuries.

Other than the torsion bars there should be no difference from a slant six to a 440 in front suspension.
