And Mr. Lyons, don't forget we have also budgeted an extra $31 this year for our average annual oil down fee.

you work for IHRA... boy, that was rich. wity...

That brings up a good question.. if the same racer oils the track in both of their cars, does the second one cost $250 or $500?

LOL Jason... All you need is a big x on the side of your rigs to look like john force rolling into an open or divisional! Good luck to all the Div 1 guys this year, i won't be attending any events as of right now b/c of dad's death unless you want to let me drive one of the 4 cars you got..*wink* LOL

I was there today to get my motorhome, the roads in the pits were covered with dried mud and they were working to get it cleaned up, there is no way they could have raced the pros with the pits roads looking like that, everyone had to be pulled out, some took 30-45 min to get through the mud onto the road and most stopped and wash the mud off afterward which made a bigger mess. I know of 1 person that left last week and not sure if he was fined or not, I was told today that he was fined but not for sure..

NHRA Entry fee: $235-$260??? Don't even know these days. Try to find that info online anywhere! Last year, it was likely somewhere about $100 higher than IHRA.
Extra day off work to run an NHRA National. (let's say $360 for a .. "well-funded" team)

Difference between NHRA/IHRA semi-finals: $500. Difference in expenses: Almost $500.

Regarding oildowns, the money's not a big deal, but when it comes to return on investment it is a big deal? It's only a few cents per car, per race, right?

I won't defend what IHRA wrote, though. IMHO, it was a 'feel good' story from Mooresville, and it could've been left at that.

Most people that complain about NHRA never do anything about it, so stop complaining or stop racing NHRA. IHRA is a smaller organization, but thats good for sportsman racers because you are not jumping through
as many hoops and dealing with pencil necks.

I live in the heart of Div1 NHRA and I am going to be traveling 500-700
miles for IHRA div/nat events. IHRA helped me with the marketing
work I needed to help secure sponsorship for my two sportsmen cars.
Your lucky NHRA gives you a pit spot.

I get more expose from IHRA for my sponsors as a sportsmen racer than
anything NHRA would ever do to help out a sportsmen racer.
