Smile Re: Vote

I voted for the two candidates with military service up here, one Democrat and one Republican. I figure anyone that served in the Gulf earned my vote by serving OUR country. Too many useless career politicians in this country!!!!
Thanks, RonP

I have been a registered Independent since I started voting. The last two elections are the first time I used a machine, because of my military assignments for 24 years I voted via absentee ballot. I have voted for conservative and liberal candidates, military and non-military. I had the recent opportunity while sitting in our local hardware store to talk to Senator Dean Heller who stated that "once elected people step inside the Beltway they lose their "moral compass", case in point two military personnel, one I worked with (Cabinet member) and the other was my Congressman (SoCal) that I voted for are being accused of fraud. One had done the same thing while on active duty and got a slap on the hand. Heller stated that "after 30 years in politics he is glad to be out of it". What we need is an independent "watchdog" and an annual or semi-annual performance report card available to the public.

I live in the most conservative Congressional district in Arizona. Mostly rural, and demographics are significantly different than the urban, heavily populated areas of the state. Probably more NRA members per capita than anywhere.

I am really disappointed with the Arizona Senate vote outcome. Republicans had a weak candidate. I did not vote for McSally in the primaries.

Now that the House is in the hands of the Democrats.....What will happen? Nothing but saber rattling and threats. They can not get any meaningful legislation through with a Republican Senate and President. Therefore, not much will happen in the next 2 years except what Republicans can control..........Court appointments (huge deal) and Executive Orders....... the glass is half full.
