race 1 & 2 results
A great time was had by everyone. The winner on saturday was Harry Morgan (the underdog) taking the win over Fred Rountree and his gorgeous 68 camaro crate motor car.Fred also won best appearing. We signed many new members and Mark Wilson joined us with a B/sa 62 dodge wagon. We had everything from a 60 chevy to a 2013 camaro. The 2nd race went to Myron Piatek and his Locomotion Dodge dart over Carl Wright and his t/sa dodge dakota.Myron also collected the bounty money on saturday's winner as well as best reaction time for first round. Those of you that did not make it, you missed out on a great time and the food was excellent.Jeff and Coralyn Lewis supplied all the food and Connie Woods, Coralyn, and Roxanne Walker prepared the meal on Saturday night.Best engineered award went to the 61 chevy bubble top built by retired nasa engineer Jim Davis. Pictures of the race will be posted soon.

The first race in an eight race season for the Southern Stock/Super Stock Association yielded exciting wheel standing launches through out the day. In the finals it was Harry "Underdog" Morgan from Blackshear, Ga. facing off with Fred Rowntree of Parrish, Fla. The "Underdog" dialed in at 17.27 seconds to Rowntree's 10.39 seconds. The seven second wait for Rowntree resulted in a red light as he went -.160 second on the tree and Morgan took home the victory.
The second race of the year for the Southern Stock/Super Stock Association again yielded some great passes through out the day. In the final it was IHRA Stock K/CM record holder Myron Platek from Holly Hill, Fla. facing Carl Wright of Oviedo, Fla. Both drivers had comparable reaction times off the line with Myron's .023 edging Wright's reaction of .092 and taking the win light. Platek dialed in at 11.36 to run a 11.389 at 103.40 mph in his '75 Dodge Dart .
