It is same weekend as Div 7 Divisional Race.....Before that it had a pretty
good size group of racers from out west there.

It is very tough to compete in Class when your car is 190 from the back
pit drive and your opponent is pitted at edge of staging lanes!

Last time I went.... I tried to tow from my pit to my opponents pit and
came very close to getting a years suspension from racing.

Golly where to start with this......

D5 S/ SS are aging unfortunately.. A cool SS/H /IA black camoro was
absent... Owners getting older ... Not in the best of health..

A real fast Cool, clean SS/BM Olds Calais was sold and went to Kansas..

Contingency money for class, or national win way down from what it was
20 years ago...

Entry fees way up...

In 1996 when I ran my first national event. You first earned a grade
point. Then ordered entry forms. They would come in the mail. Different
color for each national event. You filled it out, mailed it in. Was kinda
exciting.

Class eliminations used to be much easier to win..

Around the year 2000 you could show up, win class, and recover
a fair amout of in contingency money.

You felt kind of welcome and appreciated.

There was that race in Sonoma...

Like so many things there are usually many reasons...

To expand on Randy's post. The black super stock camaro was not entered this year on my decision. With my wife being run over by a car earlier this year, my time is taken up be the numerous doctor appointments and therapy. I simply could not take the amount of time off needed for this event. The owner wanted to go and is in fact building a new engine for the car.

I have pitted in the "North Forty" every year attending the Mile highs's. I do coast alot to get to the lanes and with that have never gotten the car over 150. In fact I have gotten the car hotter going to the lanes at Topeka than Denver, and based on my scooter odom its longer at Topeka than Denver from the north Forty.
Is the Denver pit area dirty in the north? yes it is, and you do get the feeling that you are not part of the event. However, I still love going to this race.
Is the altitude the problem? maybe, It think of going slower as more track time. ( LOL ).
Are the crowds a pain getting to the lanes?, yes but no worse than Phoenix.
Did scheduling cause a lack of entries this year? probably with D7 and D3 (although postponed) at the same time, plus weather forecast.

it is just another good reason to support mcr(midwest class racers) at the events across division 5!! Make more money and way less expense. Makes sense to me

While this is part of the western swing for the pros, perhaps another time when the weather is suitable temp wise would work?

Henry, sorry to hear about so many health challenges for you
and your wife. Thankfully not worse, hopefully she continues to heal. Sounds like Verle still full
of enthusiasm and hopefully we see the great looking familiar black
camaro back at Bandimere Speedway soon. It was definately missed.
Oh how I remember that nice hill at Topeka in the lanes on the way up to
the drag strip. With tose staging lanes down in that hole.. LOL..

LODRS at Topeka has plenty of Stock and S/S showing up to race. 93 stock and 55 S/S made the first qualifying run. Looks like the answer is that racers just do not like the Denver National event.

Why is it so hard for people to understand that most don't like the place and especially the management!

This horse has been beat to death. Sportsmen (and wives) do not go because you are so far from the starting line and zero facilities.
In all fairness to Bandimere, this happens once a year. All other races, ya park on asphalt.
