If I enter any bracket race my intent is to test / practice. I always stay true to S/SS staging rules.

And that's perfectly alright! I'm just pointing out why some people might decide to deep stage a stocker.

For a competitive advantage. In Stock, with the Turismo, I'm not allowed to deep stage and I'm not allowed to have a stripe taker. I'm fairly competitive with it in Stock, but when I bracket race it, I deep stage and use a stripe taker because I have a much better spot on the tree, and it trips the finish line consistently, which results in being much *more* competitive.

Hi Chris!
The reason I was deep-staging this past weekend is: with the way my car is set up I struggle to get a light shallow stage footbraking. I have a pretty loose converter in the car now, and when I'm running Super Stock I use my transbrake and have no issues. Footbraking leaving at a lower rpm makes a big difference for me and 05-06 lights aren't going to cut it at these footbrake races, these guys are tough!!! So that's why I was deep staging, just trying to be a little more competitive! Hope this clears some things up
