Should be an "interesting" day. The wind was up and down yesterday, and tried out many different headings... Today it has strengthened and so far has been crosshead to head, with some good gusts. On top of that, the barometer has dropped a tenth, etc... Not looking to be fast today!

The car made a surprisingly good run for the conditions. The flags were pretty well laid over at least through the 1/8th mile, and then caught a gust from 1000' or so on. Guess I'll yoss out Q2 from last night as a snafu... Other two laps are good.

Stock is in the lanes for Round 1.

Super Comp was pushed off til tomorrow, but we got first round in for Super Stock right after the show stuff. Matt Lund did an outstanding job, showing me a .008 and .01 over, so this reporter will be taking off in the morning. Heard there might be a bracket race at Indy, so maybe I can hit something on the way home.

First trip to Joliet, track was perfect from my vantage all weekend. Nice place, job well done by everyone.

Raining now, done for the night. Think they got midway through that session of Top Dragster. Keep an eye on DRC or www.nhradiv3.com for Sunday schedules.

Here's a little visual tour of Route 66 Raceway for those who haven't been there, from the second qualifying session on Saturday. Don't forget to wave to the starter, Brad Beuchel!
