2024 NWCR Schedule

NWCR is pleased to announce the 2024 schedule! It would be great to see everyone.

May 4th - 5th Qlispe Raceway, Spokane Wa.
June 15th - 16th Pacific Raceways, Kent Wa. *possible double header
July - TBD
August - TBD
Sept 7th - 8th Mission Raceway, Mission BC
Sept 14th - 15th Woodburn Dragstrip, Woodburn Oregon


On June 15th and Sept. 14th we will be having a potluck with some grilling.

Nothing at Renegade yet? I imagine you have been talking with Derek, did the Mission weekend conflict with Renegade? It gets hot in Yakima in July and August! Thanks for all your work and effort.

I realize that a lot of class racers don't like 1/8 mile but there are several tracks that are 1/8 mile only that would be beneficial to consider. Remember that if you want to encourage racers to consider joining the Stock / SS ranks, we need to visit their tracks and get some exposure to them. In addition to Bremerton, also consider Walla Walla, Madras among others. Also although not very geographically located, we're leaving Medford out of the loop.

Jim,

In 2022 and 2023 we tried to find a date that worked in the NWCR schedule that Medford could accommodate. Nothing that fit worked for them. Our thought was we could draw some Northern California cars to that track to race with us, but no such luck. The other downside is that it is a really long haul for most people.

Mission is now listing that they have an NHRA Natl Open 06-08 Sept, is the NWCR race integrated or being run separate from this?

Also kind of interesting that Mission knows it has a Natl Open but there is no Natl Open schedule listed anywhere on the NHRA site.

Yes Jim it will be integrated in with the national open. How is the comet coming along, will it hit the track this year

Comet is complete down to getting the engine on the dyno and into the car. All I have left at that point is building a blinder, oops, I meant 'factory sunvisor'...

Tentative date for Bremerton Natl Open is 03 & 04 August, that would make it the ideal option for running the NWCR race same weekend.

Great idea Jim. It is Aug. 3/4. When I have been over there to help/assist there have been 10 to 15 Stock and S/S cars there. The only problem is that Bremerton Raceway packs the events full of other classes, S/ST, S/C, Junior Street and Junior Dragsters and their regular bracket program, so they are pretty busy getting everything done. I am sure they have been approached by Steve and the other guys, so not sure if it can happen.

Have these guy's been around long. I've looked up some of their qualifying sheets and they aren't breaking 30 cars (that I saw).
