As soon as I saw that picture, my first thought was, "That obviously is the first pass of the year because he forgot to put his visor down."

That said, I'm sure he remembered 60 ft. out or so...

Hey gang,

We also got out Saturday @ Quaker City Raceway. What an awsome day for racing it was. The car, right out of the trailer, was dead on. Track was not as expected, 60ft. times were dead on, track was not bad.

Hey, about the visor thing. I have been bitten by the fogging visor in the past so I too leave it up, and at about 60ft I reach up and close it. Anyone else do this?

Looking forward to Indy........................let's hope the forecast improves.

See yall there!

Rock, thank you for trying to make something happen last week, we all appreciate it.

Wish I could afford too!! I was planning on going to Indy, Norwalk, and the Chicago national, but Indy looks like it is out of the picture. Heck, I can't afford to run the IHRA stuff either but the gold cards make it hard to pass up.

I also have the issue with the visor fogging up. Mostly at night racing. Last year I was leaving the visor partially up and letting the wind close it for me. Early last year at a Division race (Div 5) the starter came over and asked me to close it before staging. He had witnessed what I was doing earlier in a pass. He also had one of the Division tech guys come to me in the staging lanes after that and let me know the visor was to be down before staging the car or else. I did not ask about the or else. That ended that.
I have already had fogging problems this year. I approached one of the Division 7 racers in Tuscon who had a bump and a filter looking cartridge on the lower side of his helmet. He told me it was a very small inline fan and filter system to prevent fogging the visor. He had a 12 volt wire running from the helmet tied to the car with a connector like a communication wire system. He said it worked well and he only used the fan when he felt the fogging issue was going to be there. He had picked it up at a dirt track speed shop in California and did not know what the name of the manufacturer was. He said just try a dirt track shop. I have not started looking yet but it looked like it would take a helmet that was setup for it also.
Anyone with other ideas? I would also like to try something.

Have you tried the anti-fog spray? I'm not exactly sure what brand or anything mine is, but I picked it up at a snowmobile dealer many years ago. I would guess your local motorcycle dealers would carry it too.

I used to use my racing helmet for riding sleds too, and let me tell you that BEFORE I used the anti-fog that shield would fog up in no time flat. I was always doing the same thing...trying to ride around with my visor up, but that sucked big time because it was so damn cold. A little anti-fog (spray on, and wipe off with a soft, clean cloth) before every weekend trip solved that problem.

Here's a couple of links I found:
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motor...isor-anti-fog/
http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/fogtech/

The Cat Crap (gotta love the name) may be difficult to get since it appears that the original manufacturer went out of business. But, FogTech is made right here in the US by Moto Solutions. Here's a link to their website:

http://www.motosolutions.com/fogtech.html

I just might try some for my windshield...
