Question convertor identification

Trying to identify a convertor(GM) for a friend, measures approx 9" and has stampings: BSX-5.125 TB and FO2Z , stamped on the pump side. Any ideas? Thanks, Joe Helms.

Hi Joe, We use a similar ID numbering and lettering for ours. That particular ID looks like either mine or Continental, the B stands for neutral blading on pump side, S would be the stator fin angle or modification, X-5 would be sprag type, .125 couild either be back cut on stator or motor plate thickness (standard GM height + 1/8) depending on where it's stamped, and TB indidcates it has a bushing in pilot for turbine. As far as the F02Z, it could mean that the converter was gone through by another company with different coding ID. So the above coding could be changed. Hope this helps, if I could help you further, I would be more than happy to assist you personally if you want to give me a call at the shop at 203-874-2100. Hope this helps.
