Default Passing of Chassis builder "Chick" Brignolo

Cyril “Chick” Brignolo, age 71, of Norton passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. He was the beloved husband of Teresa Tocci- Brignolo.

Born in East Boston, MA on July 16, 1942, he was a loving son of the late Cyril, Sr. and Mary (Orlando) Brignolo. He grew up in Dorchester, was educated in St. Gregory Schools, and was a graduate of Don Boscoe High School.

A resident of Norton for the past 24 years, Mr. Brignolo was a chassis builder and welder, and was the proud owner of Chick Brignolo Chassis in Norton for many years. He had previously resided in Milton, Dedham and Dorchester.

Chickie’s passion in life was cars. He was presently a member of the Tri-Town Street Rods and in the 1960’s, was a member of the Turbins and the Auburn Shifters Car Club.

Mr. Brignolo was recognized for his achievements in the hot rod industry by being inducted into the Hot Rod Hall of Fame and the New England Dragway Hall of Fame. Chick will be affectionately remembered by all for his annual hot rod cookouts held at his home in Norton.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by her children: Adam, Jeffrey, Kayla and Austin all of Norton, and her parents Michael and Elizabeth Heffernan of Needham. He was the brother of Richard Brignolo and his wife Caroline of Brockton and Joanne Brignolo of Washington, DC. He was the uncle of Michael, Andrea and Amanda Brignolo and is also survived by many close friends.

Graveside funeral services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Wednesday, July 9th at 10:00 A.M. at the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Plain St., Norton.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 8th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.

In accordance with Chick’s wishes, please do not send flowers and those attending his services to please dress in a casual and comfortable attire.

Chick was a great chassis builder and street car fabricator. He was very well respected for his work in the Bristol County area. Chick was also owner of an original hemi dart that was in unrestored condition last time I saw it. I believe he was the original owner of it also. He will be missed by many.
