Tow Vehicle Help
Need some help on a engine for my tow vehicle.
Current engine has 208,000 miles. It's a 6.0L GMC What would be a good route to take ?? Anyone have experience with Jasper Engines ?? Not looking to spend a lot of money either.... Thank you.

Re: Tow Vehicle Help
What's it doing? Burning oil? Down on power?
If you can have the down time I would say the most economical thing to do IMHO would be to pull it and do a rebuild. Valve seals, springs, cam, lifters, hone, rings, bearings, gaskets, machine work, ... Sounds like a lot cheaper than a new engine. Might be a good time then to add a towing cam and converter while it's apart. Scott |

Whats wrong with it? Define "alot" of money. A jasper engine wont be cheap.

I was thinking No More Than $5,000. or is it going to be WAY more than that. Then, probably should look for something with less miles. How bout a junkyard motor with say 70-100 thousand miles ????
