Default Sept 4 & 5 Results

Saturday race #7:

Mother nature provided us with a very windy day and chance of scattered showers.
The track personnel decided for safety reasons to race 1/8 mile due to the strong crosswinds.

A record 51 cars signed up to race for the Saturday title and purse.
After two rounds of qualifying and the start of eliminations, persistant rain showers halted first round and ended our day of racing.
On the bright side, lots of bench racing took place well into the evening at our annual Can-Am racers barbeque sponsored by Dale's Pharmacy, Smith Performance and the Vanni family.

Sunday Race #8:

Sunday dawned a much clearer but cool day, but still quite windy, so the track continued with 1/8 mile racing.

51 cars signed in to race. In eliminations 48 cars answered the call first round. After 6 rounds of racing, the final round came down to two Stockers, Tony Valerio and Steve McGrath. With almost identical reaction times, Tony Valerio's E/CM '68 Camaro bested the H/SA '73 Dart of Rochester NY's Steve McGrath.
Tony also won the Vince Vanni memorial trophy (sponsored by Source Cable) for the most points for the weekend. As well, he wins an embroidered leather jacket from Dan Velenosi and Queenston Group Insurance and Investments for the member with the most points.

In addition to our regular payouts, Dilts Piston Hydraulics presented $200 to Wally Clark for the most points in Super Stock for a Can-Am member and $200 to Tony Valerio for the most points for a Can-Am member in Stock eliminator.

Other bonus prizes were:
$100 from Scogog Collision to Jamie Groves for first round best reaction time (.005)
$100 from the Performance Cellar to Rob Barnes for the second best reaction time first round.
$200 from ERD and Belmont Automotive was shared by Al Lozon, John Ulinskas, and Frank Federico for closest to the dial first round. All three were perfect to the thousandth!
$200 from Pat Hoekstra and Century Farms Ent for the best appearing car (voted by the drivers) went to the beautiful GT/DA '02 Camaro of Al Lozon.

Thanks to all our sponsors and supporters who donated the many prizes to our draw table to share with our racers.

Thanks to TMP and staff for their co-operation and continued support of our Can-Am Stock/Super Stock series and giving us a safe place to race. Special thanks to Mike Kohn for the great track prep.

As our Labour Day Nationals race has continued success, we look forward to it growing in size each year. Put it on your calender next year!
