Thats good news. There has been tons of interest in the S/SS portion of the Great American Race. Lots of calls coming in so everything looks great thus far.

Well I'll be there doing pics and racing in no box. The ol' Grand Cherokee needs to go one round further than last year. Hope to see everybody out there, and having fun. There will be some good food, good times passed, and lots of great passes im sure. I'll be there Thursday at noon for parking.

Gaylon, let me know if you need help with anything during the week.

Greg: Pat borrowed $1000,00 from me too. I hope he remembers to pay us back. You know it sure is a shame how some people forget they owe money. It comes with old age...

What age? I'm gonna sneak in and park early. I'm going to No 1 on the first pass. Kevin might have a surprise vehicle in Stock. Should be good.

It is an, and quoted from weather.com "area of interest" in the western Atlantic Ocean" There areas of interest everyday in the tropics. So I think a "big storm brewing" is a little premature. I live off the Gulf Coast 10 miles from the beach and we get afternoon thunderstorms that are worse than some of the subtropical weather.

Take Care,
Gaylon

another quote from weather.com

Prognosis for development
There is an upper-level trough to the west and northwest of this tropical wave. Associated with this trough are two ingredients that are typically harmful to tropical cyclone development:

  • Wind shear: In this case, west to southwest winds aloft are present to the north of Hispanola, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. Given near-surface winds have an easterly component, this wind shear tends to displace thunderstorms away from any low-level circulation. For tropical cyclogenesis, you want thunderstorms concentrated near an area of surface low pressure.
  • Dry air: You can see this tongue of dry air in the water-vapor satellite image below as a brown-shaded patch over the Bahamas, just east of Miami.
