The enthusiasm for "first" in the case of the starting line, I presume this would apply to the finish line as well?

Once one vehicle breaks out, the other vehicle ought to be immune?

"The first to foul, and the first to breakout are always the loser." Seems like this would be a consistent application of the notion of "first".

Excellent logic, Mr. Bunkster. I can't imagine a valid argument against what you have suggested.

Wish I'd said that...

The only instance a "first red light" makes any sense is in a heads-up race. DUH...

NO!!!.....Lets say you have a better light than your opponent, you beat him to the stripe by a .001 of a second, break out less than your opponent, and you lose the race because you did it first?

Sure, why not? They shouldn't have ran quicker than their dial. Just like the first person to leave shouldn't have red lighted, right?

I think the red light rule should be the same as the break out rule. Either make them both first loses or both worst loses.

Oh Garyyyy,it's 66% to 33% now.
Yep ,you're right Ed. It's the democratic American way.

The fast car drivers should be able to vote against anything that evens up the playing field a little bit for the first leavers.
Just like they should be able to vote against deep staging so the slow cars won't be able to leave on the last bulb like they do...
There's more high class cars nowadays, so they should be able to set the rules.

Now ,I still say we can vote out those pesky ,underrated new cars next.

Well I guess I've come to the conclusion that this is an experiment in futility.I'm done.
All I can say is that it used to be in life that the majority rule was taken as being the standard by which we lived our lives. No more.
I can only hope that if there is such a thing as reincarnation that I come back as a blind,
black, gay, illegal alien, socialist,HIV positive, club footed midget.I'll have the world by the balls.
Over and out.

Did you ever notice that no one has ever given a good reason and/or argument as to why this rule should stay the way it is? You know..reasoning other than "That's the way it is/It's been like that forever/quit crying/you should have built a faster car/I red lit first I deserve to lose/You bracket race, we class race/There are bigger problems, etc." I guess if we had a poll on whether or not gas prices should decrease I wonder if they would say:

Hopefully gas stays high because..well...that's the way it is. Quit crying, just build a car that gets better gas mileage. After all, you bought a means of transportation that runs on gas, you deserve to lose (money at the pump). You knew the rules, you should have gotten one that runs on water. What am I talking about, I don't even care how much gas costs, there are bigger problems that need to be addressed.

Happy Friday!

Also, what Bobby said.
