1966 NOVA stick stocker
After almost five years and countless hours Josh Goodall’s new Stock eliminator NOVA moved this week under its own power. Dave Cech and his crew at Peterson Auto Body transformed a clapped out hulk into beautifully prepared and painted roller. Note Josh dictated the “old school” paint scheme! Myself and good friend Mike Haskins had what I consider the easier/ fun part of finishing the project, glass, interior, wiring, fuel hook up, drive line, clutch, etc. and final start up.
Josh and his Dad have spared no expense in purchasing the best parts and pieces need to assemble this 1966 NOVA: Schechter Brothers 283ci/ 220 HP engine, McLeod clutch, Quick time housing with Jerico transmission from the Helms’, Performance Welding SS step headers, Moser 12 bolt, Strange disc brakes front and rear, Byrd drive shaft, Deno carburetor, aluminum radiator, Mildon pan, MagnaFuel pump, Kirkey seats, Eddie Rezac front end and much more. According to Josh, he and his Dad have been big fans of class racing for years and this car is something they have talked about for a long time. I personally would like to welcome them into our ranks and look forward to seeing them at the races next year. As of now the car will either be competing as J/S or I/S. Jim Parsons F/S 5305 |
