0.312" is "standard" 5/16" and mine show no signs of wear that I could see with the shifter lever removed. I am probably easier on the trans than most, and have used it less since 2007 than many racers in 1/2 season. The slot in the shifter lever also measured .312" minimum, with a little variation of course because the slot was punched by Hurst/Mr. Gasket.

I've never broken one nor has any of the people I usually race with around here but will but one just in case if you're doing a run of them. Sounds like a problem waiting to happen.

Did anyone tell Scott to look at this thread? I'm sure with a reputation at stake, he'd
look into the problem.

Great job Bobby....on the r&d to fix the problem!

I just got off the phone [9:20 AM,Monday,CA.] with Scott at Jerico. He gave me the same story I heard from George, they claim ignorance! He told me the bushed opening must be out of round or I am shifting clutchless! I have ALWAYS used the clutch [McLeod Soft-Lok],the opening is round and tight, not sloppy. The first finger,3-4,lasted for at least 14 seasons,I have had the trans for 5+ years, the second one broke on the 7th pass!! I use a LONG shifter,OLD,that has NO stops,I adjust the linkage on a fully assembled DR4 trans with the top plate removed,I make sure the gears are not being over shifted! ROY.

Have someone running one in his trans now and getting what I believe will be my last prototype this week. If all the measurements come out to what I want then we are good to go. Can't rush something like this, I wanted perfection.

I've run a jerico since '06. One thing you can COUNT on is jerico will NEVER admit to a problem with their trans. Its always the driver, the car setup, the clutch, the this the that. It a shame they flat don't care. Once you buy a trans or parts they could care less after that. Unfortunately I just had to buy another 900.00 worth of parts from them. This will be my last jerico. Zero customer service.
