Default Stocker Low Compression Approved Fuel.

Low compression SBC stocker motor, would like to run lowest Octane approved fuel. What would everyone suggest? 92 unleaded Pump gas is not legal at a Divisional Lucas Oil race ?

First choice VP C-11.2nd Sunoco standard 110. Both are leaded fuels.Pump gas is not legal at a NHRA divisional, nat.open or national event. gsa612

Same recommendation. I've tried both on the dyno and saw no discernible difference.

Bill,
Is there a jetting or timing difference in the two fuels?

Look at
Sunoco 260 GTX Unleaded
VP C10 or VP C20 both Unleaded.
All three are NHRA legal.

Sunoco tech recommends Sunoco 'Surge' as their best low compression fuel at 105 octane over 260 GTX fuel. It is now on the the approved fuel list. Supposed to have some better qualities than 260GTX.

When Pete had his 80 305 we dynoed Sunoco110,C12,C11 and even tried C25 ($20+ gal.at the time). The C11 was worth about 5,it liked to be 1 step richer on the sec. rod. over the C12 and the 110.The C25 came around after changing timing, jets, rods, moving the cam.In the end it showed a couple of HP over the C11.Some guys were seeing close to 10 on BBC.On the SBC the minimal gains did not justify the cost.So C11 it was! gsa612.

C11 works well, better than the older
Sunoco supreme, have not tried the newer
unleaded fuels, c25 was a tick quicker but
Expensive as stated earlier would only use for class
or heads up.
