Anyone know of a early 70s Buick 455 stocker for sale?
Thanks, Jeremy |

Yep, I saw that one but was worried with it being a 462 now that it would no longer be stock. I had him send me pictures and it also has headers so I need to do some more research and make sure that is legal for that car. I am kind of new to these restricted classes so I want to make sure I don't get into something that won't fit the class.

Getting started in class racing can be daunting....I'd seriously suggest going to the Indy Divisional race next month (you're in Wisconsin ....right?) and talking to class racers there. There will be some Buick runners there who could also steer you in the right direction. If you haven't poured over a rulebook and classification guide for the combos you're interested in then do that research ahead of time as well.
Here's the guide for a 72 Buick...you'll notice you need to know exactly what combo you're dealing with. http://www.nhra.net/tech_specs/class...es/1972BUI.xls

I think I might head over to the race in Indy at the end of the month and check things out. I went over the rules like you said and it probably would be best to check things out just to make sure how I think everything works is actually how it is.

Re: Wanted 1970 - 72 Buick 455
Hi Jeremy
Are you still looking? we have a stock 455 (think it's a 72) complete from carb to pan. It has stock exhaust manifolds, fan blade to fly wheel and was running (good) last month before we took it out and set it in the garage. Ed can get you all the numbers if you need them. Or call him and he'll get you any info you need to verify it's the one you need. (it's cheap) Ed Wiley (352) 650-3574
