Default dish pistons

What is the difference between a dish piston and a dish piston with notches? Is there any performance difference?

Thanks in advance for the insights.

Default Re: dish pistons

If dish is the same depth and you have valve clearance you will gain a small amount of compression. Snowed in yet?
