Default X - pipe

I know you S/SS racers really watch your weight but has anyone tried an X - pipe? Those roundy round guys do it and was wondering if it would work on a drag car too.

The NASCAR roundy round guys do it, but for the wrong reason. The engine shop I was at tried an H pipe vs. an X pipe, on the pump the H pipe averaged a few more, but the X pipe was chosen because the drivers thought it sounded cooler, more like an F1 car - LOL, true story.

I run one on my car. I read somewhere years ago a comparison between open headers, h pipe and an x pipe. the short story was the x pipe was as efficient as open headers but added torque on the bottom end, the h pipe was the least effiecient but had a more consistent torque curve than open headers. Plus it sounds deadly I hope the new bumpstick sounds the same.

Went from 3 1-2 bullet mufflers to x- pipe and full 3 inch exhaust out the back and added 45 lbs and gained .04 et. Pipemax program is the ticket.
