Default TNTSS to crown 8th champion this weekend with NY double!

TNT Super Series to crown 8th champion this weekend with New York double event

Sam LoVetro Automotive weekend - No points fee for newcomers!

Ten races on the 2014 schedule, fifty-one drivers competing, two races re-scheduled due to weather, only one weekend double remaining.... and the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series is going to crown its 8th series champion this weekend.

RACE 9 is this Friday September 12 at Elegant Builders Raceway Park in Lancaster, NY and RACE 10 is Saturday September 13 at Empire Dragway in Leicester, NY... both presented by Sam LoVetro Automotive.

Jason Vitez holds the championship points lead with 588 points and is coming off a win at Cayuga. 61 points behind him is two-time TNTSS champion JJ Jablonski in second place with 527. Ted Barnes is another 14 back at 513 sitting in third... while Tom Coonly is right there in fourth with 511 points. Harris Phelps rounds out the top five with 480.

Then you have Jamie Stoneman, Harry Phelps, Jim Thomson, Chris VanBaalen and Pete D'Agnolo making up the top ten. In previous years, the points standings wouldn't change that much at this point in the season but this year there are an additional 32 points up for grabs at each race just for qualifying PLUS another 65 or so for going rounds... making it anyone's championship.

Vitez also leads the standings for the Performance Improvements DRIVER OF THE YEAR, lubricated by Royal Purple... just ahead of Jim Thomson, with Barnes and Jablonski tied for third. And for The Balancing Act Rookie of the Year title, Pete D'Agnolo is leading Pete Maduri Sr by a mere one point sitting 10th and 11th in the championship standings.

As in previous years, the TNTSS will not charge any newcomers the points registration fee this weekend. That means you can try your hand with some of the best sportsman racers in the country for a mere $60 (plus track admission).

Gates open Friday at 3pm at Elegant Builders Raceway Park with qualifying at 5pm. Saturday at Empire Dragway gates open at noon with qualifying at 2pm.
