Default Races #2 and #3 Keystone Raceway Park

Races #2 and #3 for the 2017 TSSSSA season will be held at Keystone Raceway Park in New Alexandria PA on Saturday and Sunday September 23-24. A more streamlined schedule than in years past.

Weekend schedule:
Saturday 9/23
Gates Open: 8 am
Time Trials: 10 am
7th Annual Bob Butter-Carl Schodde Memorial Race. S/SS entry: $100

Other classes will be Keystone Nostalgia Combo Series, Box and No-Box nostalgia bracket races (1980-older cars only, one time trial for them), UMTR Stick Cars.

Sunday 9/24
Gates open: 8 am
Time Trials: 10 am
S/SS Race entry $50

Other classes: UMTR stick cars, Box and No-box nostalgia bracket classes (1980-older cars, one time trial for them), Old Farts race (65-older drivers--their name for it, NOT mine). Plus 2-3 exhibition runs by slingshot dragsters and nostalgia funny cars each day.

Still plenty of time to join points for the TSSSSA. Best three (3) of five (5) races count, $25 to join points. Not necessary to join to race with us, just to join points. Open to all legal NHRA and IHRA S/SS cars, plus Nostalgia/Super Stock cars.

We hope to see you Sat-Sun Sept 23-24 at Keystone!

A few notes about this weekend:

~A part of the PA Turnpike will be closed this coming weekend. https://www.paturnpike.com/press/201...0907114919.htm

You can also take U.S. 422 to I-79 to Cranberry to get back on the Turnpike.

~We should be set up near where we usually are with our table.

~Use the entrance that is Route 22/old motocross gate, that comes in on the right-hand side of the track

~if you happen to be pitted where the radio reception is not good, come see me and let me know. I can send a text out when they call us to the lanes.

It was a good weekend at Keystone. The annual PID/Keystone Reunion race is always a favorite of mine. Saturday's winner was Michael Butter (younger brother of Matt, son of Randy, and nephew of the late Bob 'Beaver' Butter), who fittingly won the race co-named after his uncle, defeating Jim Lydon in the final. Jim won the first ever official TSSSSA race here at Keystone in April 1997. Sunday was Phil Baldachino, defeating Joe Tharp. Our next, and final two, races will be November 4-5 at Mason-Dixon Dragway in Hagerstown Maryland for the annual Mason-Dixon S/SS Fall Classic. Guaranteed at least $2,000 to win on Sunday 11/5. We hope to see you there !

I wish this race would not have been on top of the IHRA race at Dragway 42.
Congrats to the winners.
