Car count for Atco LODRS this weekend.
After a light turnout for the Atco open Easter weekend, what do you think the car count will be for Stock and Super Stock this weekend? I Believe some of the low count had to do with racing on Easter weekend, and some just weren't finished with their stuff yet. I'm hoping we get back to the normal 100 plus cars for Stock and 75 Super stock cars.
It was also good to see gas was down to 3.75 a gallon at the Sunoco on Rt206 by the time we left Saturday. Hoping to see it it another .10 cheaper this weekend.

Glad to see someone getting a break!
I think the bracket racers will have more cars than us for a while…Fuel here yesterday - highest, I paid 6.49 at Sam’s club… more on this Reg was 5.59 E85 4.00 I saw 6.89 Chevron off I 80. As I left Sam’s -down the street I see 6.09 D at the corner market…A few choice words. Wife taps me on the shoulder… I said; what’s that for? Oh just resetting the tach…

Not that it means much to the avg. Racer but here in Pa. they must not be trying to push E85 very hard. It's not all that common but where it can be found it's only $.20 less than Reg. and not worth the MPG loss.

Boy 3.75 a gallon would look good here in Vegas as well. Every corner gas station around me are showing the price starting with a "5".
Some of our normal friends that race out of northern California aren't racing this year. Yet anyway. Some have sold their cars recently. When 20 gallons cost you 120.00. The Motorhomes and stackers start to dry out the tires from sitting in one spot. Paul |

Re: Car count for Atco LODRS this weekend.
Cheapest reg.gas here is around $3.89
Diesel keeps fluctuating practically everyday and has been up the last week or two.....over $5.00 everywhere and way over $5 bucks at some places.....It was $4.99 for a week or two.... When I bought my Duramax diesel pickup, diesel fuel was cheaper than gasoline.... That's around 10-12 years ago....... Right after I bought that truck, diesel went up and was higher than gas but only about $.20 cents.......Now it's ridiculously higher.....I still have the truck and drive it everyday. $50 disappears in no time.......and that's half a tank at best.....12MPG city type driving.... My class C V10 Ford Motorhome gets 7-8 tops and sits in the driveway keeping the pavement dry mostly...... Racing is not a high priority at this time for me.....may never be again....

Re: Car count for Atco LODRS this weekend.
We were there Sunday changing the trans and converter in our car and some rigs were rolling in then. I know as a promoter I was always told Easter & Mom's Day are the 2 weekends you DON'T schedule a race on. I think the counts will be in the total of around 460ish. I can say a lot of people I talked with are just waiting on stuff to finish their motors because they did the re-fresh over the wintertime and things that were quoted as 1 months now have turned into 6-9 month waits. I think another factor to the low counts is that it's an Open, with no points to crown a champ, no contingency, the Stk/SS classes are heavy because they want to set records and get a grade point but, for the other classes it's a test & tune session or just to get a grade point, it's kind of lost that luster.

Re: Car count for Atco LODRS this weekend.
While I most definitely won't run near a second under, taking a look at the weather predictions for Friday morning, we're looking at 100-200ft da around 9-10am. Either there's going to be a lot of fast runs, or drivers are going to be using the brake pedal so they don't "break out" during their qualifying runs.

Re: Car count for Atco LODRS this weekend.
I have over $100,000 invested in my racing equipment and it costs $1700 a race to go - gas prices will NEVER keep me from going.
