Mickey always has something to say. LOL.

I understand the need to follow the rules, especially safety.
What is it that you really would like to see as an outcome as a result of you choosing this forum to review this rules violation in public?

I know you were there, and you witnessed this, did you consider notifying an official in the name of safety or to overturn the run or?

Did you consider reminding the competitor in person as a sportsmanlike reminder. I mean, we all can be forgetful.

Did you draft a letter to the div tech director to request that NHRA be more vigilant in its oversight of safety?

Or did you want to rant about someone that beat someone else and try to get everyone on line to fall in line and demand the racer turn back the round points or whatever he gained.

In my opinion, unless you take some real action with NHRA on your part, based upon your first hand observations, nothing will change going forward.

By the way, I don't know any of the parties involved. I would think it reasonable for NHRA to police this. Believe me, if they tossed someone for going past the ready line without this gear on, it would fix it.

Fire pants aren't required for anything under M/S or M/SA. If he was wearing them in a W/SA car along with a jacket it was by his choice.

Do you have a reason for this question?
Yes I do, as a matter of fact.
NHRA already requires 12.85 Stockers (high 13's @ altitude) to wear a firesuit, along with their mandated roll bar.
Meanwhile, Joe Bracket Bomber needs neither at 11.50, on a car that probably hasn't even been up on jack stands in five years.
Please don't give NHRA any more ideas. We're treated unfairly enough already in this matter.
Thank you.

When was the last time you entered your low index race car at a major event and how did you do?
Thank You

Thank you, David

It should be mentioned here that if you don't feel safe being chased in a 14, 15, 16 second car, then by all means put that bar in there, suit up, and pull that 5 way nice and tight.

Of course I don't know how you're gonna turn around much and watch that other car way back there...
