Default Car Hauler beds....other than Hodges

Anyone have any experience with having a car hauler bed put on their 1-ton? Hodges in Kentucky seems to be all I can find, but I live in the northeast and can't see driving that far unless they are the only game in town.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Eric -- Over the years I must have bought more than twenty from him -- he will deliver if asked -- tell him I said hey..........And he is the best at building them .

Thumbs up Re: Car Hauler beds....other than Hodges

Eric, I have to agree with Jack as I have owned 2 beds by Hodge and known many guys with them as well. They hold up great and are very well constructed. With a Hodge bed you won't go wrong. ( in my opinion)

I don't know why you would consider any other one.
I purchased two from him over the years and couldn';t be happier with either.
You can't beat the price. I made the trip all the way from South Florida to get each of them done and he even provided me with a loaner car while I was there at no extra cost. Did the entire job in just one day.

Thank You guys. Once I figure out what I going to use to get my cars to the track, I will give him a call. I went the used rollback route a few seasons ago, and now have found myself the only non-tow guy around with a tow truck....have learned a lot and the hodges bed would allow me to never, ever have to wonder if a hydraulic line is going to let go, and make a 3-5 gallon mess in my driveway....Rollbacks have there other uses(dock height, material hauling), but for racing, they are not always a good choice.

I decided not to have a hodges bed put on my 360 powered 50K 93 D350 3 years ago when I purchased my 70 Challenger....and keep it as a 14ft stakebody with 1600lb liftgate instead(the ultimate parts moving truck)....

and opted for a 96 f450 powerstroke rollback with a 19ft kilar aluminum bed with a wheellift instead. Expensive to maintain, real fun to drive, but my lord does it inspire drivers to cut me off! I thought towing an enclosed trailer brought out the worst in drivers, try the light/medium duty loaded rollback.....

Tow truck drivers have it tough, have earned my lifelong respect.

Thanks

good thing I'm not the only one. I enjoy driving my 04 C4500 Kodiak without the trailer. It's not a wrecker. It's got a quick haul bed on it, but it's one that you wouldn't want to tailgate. When I picked up my new trailer in April, wan't 5 miles from the dealer and this woman thought she could just drive into my lane while I was there. I wonder how you could miss 65' of RED.

I've heard that red is the worst color for recognition than any other color. (the Christmas tree excluded) Especially for a color blind person.
Just as yellow is the easiest color to see.

Beginning to realize that.
