Re: Coolest new Thing from PRI
OK, one more post and I'll quit the hijack...
During one of my spectating visits to the salt, I got to talk to Dan Warner for an hour (or a couple beers)...he's in charge of record certification for the SCTA and a 200 club member...he told me that a large portion of the racers out there are former drag racers who got fed up with the BS. And you're dead on, Phil...it's way tougher to go 200 than it would seem. Here's my favorite video: |

Re: Coolest new Thing from PRI
I ran at Maxton from 1996 to 2001 and it was a lot of fun. I have friends who still go but they say the time between runs is now about 6 hours. I can remember making 15 hits at the mile in a day. Like Yogi said nobody goes there anymore because it is too crowded.
thanks, Roland |

Re: Coolest new Thing from PRI
IMIS-INDY just changed their 2011 show dates so the two shows will NOT be held at the same time. Orlando PRI show is Dec 1-3 and the IMIS-INDY show is Dec 8-10.
Another Bonneville story, the February issue of Street Rodder. Page 26. A must read. World's fastest Highboy (34 Ford Roadster) with a 494 Keith Black Chrysler from a former IHRA Funny Car. detuned to 4000 plus HP running between 60 -67 % NITRO....burned almost 30 gallons in 3 miles. It ran 304 MPH.....the motor ran for 45 seconds... Donnie Cummins of RacePak was co crew chief of this beast. Phil
