Default TNT Series expands program at DTRP in 2009!

Six events to be held at the 1/8th mile facility this year

LANCASTER, NEW YORK (February 7, 2009) Joe’s Transmission TNT Hot Rod Super Series is pleased to announce the US portion of its 2009 schedule. Returning to the facility that started it all, the TNT Super Series will have a total of SIX events at Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) in 2009. "We're very excited to have the TNT competitors back to DTRP this year," said Sharon Hughes, Drag Coordinator at DTRP. "These racers are such a great group. They are serious competitors who put on an awesome show."

The TNT Series was brought to life in 2006 when the folks at Dunn Tire Raceway Park let them 'try an idea'. And according to Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director, he couldn't be more excited about the expanded program in what is only the series' third season. "We ran four events at DTRP in 2008 and had strong car counts at each one. So when they asked us to come back more often, we couldn't have been happier!" The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series will both begin AND end its 2009 season at DTRP.

All of the staff at DTRP give 110% every raceday. They run an effective, efficient program which the competitors enjoy. "The TNT competitors are here to race. They really appreciate the way DTRP officials execute a TNT event. It's a no nonsense approach to drag racing," added Ted.

Here are the dates for Joe's Transmission TNT Hot Rod Super Series at DTRP in 2009:

Friday May 8
Friday June 5
Friday July 3 / Saturday July 4 - Double Header Weekend
Friday August 21
Saturday October 3 - 2009 TNT Season FINALE

DTRP is also sponsoring one of the many specialty awards (new for 2009) at each US event - The first round loser with the best reaction time will receive a free pass for racer entry into TOP ET! "These guys are a terrific addition to our drag racing program and we want to reward them for coming to our track," said Ralph Galluzi, owner of DTRP. "Participating in the TNT Specialty Awards is a great way to do that."

Since quite a few of the TNT racers also enter Top ET during an event, Sharon also pointed out that any racer in the DTRP points will get a $5 discount off the $50 Top ET entry fee. "In addition to the discount, DTRP points racers will also receive VIP passes, preference for reserved pit spots and are eligible for the Summit Super Series benefits,: Sharon added. Located in Lancaster New York (just outside Buffalo), Dunn Tire Raceway Park includes an 1/8-mile IHRA-sanctioned drag strip, an asphalt oval track and a two-lane 150 foot mud racing track. They host a variety of motorsports events all season long.
