Default Thoughts and prayers for one of our racing families

I am very sad to share the information that Ardith Wildgoose has passed away. The Wildgoose family are the closest thing to permanent fixtures in Canadian class racing, and "Momma Goose" is known to all of us for her infectious smile, boundless enthusiasm, and seemingly endless race track lunches. Jim and the entire family could use our support and compassion at this sad time. I will post information for services when they become available.

I sit here trying to think of what to say. I have written and erased this post about 5 times already and I still cannot think of anything that could properly express how truly shocked we were to hear of Ardith's sudden passing. On any race day you could be sure to see Ardith's smiling face as she rode around on the golf cart with Jim or followed him into the lanes for the next round. If she wasn't with Jim she was sure to be with one of her children or grandchildren. That smile will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jim and the entire Wildgoose family. Ardith was a wonderful lady and she will be missed.

Here is the full clip from the Spectator;

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Ardith Wildgoose announces her very sudden passing, but peacefully with her family next to her. Words cannot express how much she will be missed by her family and friends. Ardith will forever be known as everyone's best friend. Eternally loved wife of Jim (45 years together). Cherished mother to Julie (Charlie), Jamie (Tami) and Jodie (Philip). Beautiful Grandma to Katarina, Vanessa, Alyssa, Bentley, Liam and Dylan. Ardith is the beloved daughter of Lona Felker (Edward Felker 1995) and loving sister of Noreen Felker. Ardith will be deeply missed by aunts, uncles, cousins and her children's extended families. Ardith's never ending kindness touched the hearts of everyone who met her. Visitation will take place at the DONALD V. BROWN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Lake Avenue Drive, Stoney Creek on January 1, 2014, 7-9 p.m., January 2, 2014, 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Private family burial followed by a open memorial and reception at Church of Our Savior the Redeemer, 25 Lake Avenue South, Stoney Creek January 3, 2014 at 1 p.m. Please, in lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donate to her two favourite charities, Canadian Diabetes Foundation and McMaster Children's Hospital. On-line condolences may be made at: www.donaldvbrown.ca "Those things we do for ourselves die with us. Those things we do for others, live on forever."

Jim and Jamie are one of "us" , please lets show them the support they need at this sad time.

So sorry to hear this announcement from the "network", but so happy to belong to this community which, as Frank alluded, must surround the Wildgoose family with love and support, now and in the future.

Thank-you to everyone whose words of testimony and condolence will help us to "know" Ardith despite meeting her so infrequently. God bless.
