Question Should there be a Ford class, A chevy class?

With all the discussion of the Factoring problems of aerodynamics, small carb, big heads, Aluminum replacements for one brand and none for others we see SS/AH as a success because of the lack of variety and competition from the outside and therefore hard to be paranoid about factoring etc.
This method seems to work here could there be a SS/AFORD, SS/ACHEVY to give other racers a chance for the "STAGE" at big races?
Should this method be tried on Stk also? I know the intimate involvement of MOPAR helps sustain this class but would it happen for others as well?

Cool Re: Should there be a Ford class, A chevy class?

Best idea I have heard of yet. Can't see it going through though.

There already is...it's called "superford" "superchevy" etc weekends..

That's where people looking for that go, not a stocker race. The hemi thing is an exception, not the rule.
And no I don't want a G/Mustang/SA class either. (or C/Nova/SA for that matter)

Sure, if Ford and GM want to pay up they can have any class they want.

There is no "SuperFord" series that I have heard of, I know of two sanctioning bodies for Ford only racing and they are both based on heads up classes and also run brackets.

SuperChevy is just a gracket race except for their version of pro-mods.

I agree with Dick that heads up racing is the only thing that will make sportsman cars a spectator favorite but I do not think there are enough High HP Ford cars to make a Ford only Superstock or Stock class without some sort of factoring.

If there was a way to get my car (Ford GT car under construction) into a heads up class I would jump at the opportunity but then I live out west where heads up racing will be in short supply even if you implement it in the east.

There are currently 3 "new" 64 Thunderbolts being readied for TOP/SS or SS/A stick. When these are done there will be Ray Paquet, Dallas Kelly, Paul Adams, Matt Dahl and I believe a return of the Velde name. People build for classes where fun is. With the limited number of motors in Big Fords and Big Vettes and BIGGER belvederes to run the factoring seems to be pretty close so far in TOP/SS. Several others are about to be out with Camaro or vettes to join TOP/SS also. Maybe this sort of limited car discription will make it possible for ALL brands using older cars to run Heads up and be close performance wise.
Join us at INDY OPEN for TOP/SS and TOP/STK. See the topssracing.com site for pictures of last years race. It is great.
