Default Stinnett or MaxSpeed

I am looking for input on a new stop for my new hotrod. I have limited hood clearance and do not want a scoop. So I have about 2" of available room under a carb for a stop. Looking for experiences with either. Pros cons etc. My last S/ST car had a disc stop buit they are limited in bore size and I am looking at no smaller than a 2.200" throttle blade. My engine actually made a fair amount more power with a 2.400...Any thoughts are appreciated.

Al, everyone I knew that ran the MaxSpeed no longer does.

That said, I too have limited under hood clearance. I've been running a custom height 4150 stop from #1 Stop since we have first competed in S/ST.

Last season I swapped my 4150 carb to BLP's "large bore" 4150 which uses the same body as the twin blade. Once again I called onto Gary at #1 Stop who again built me a custom height stop that I will be using this season.

You guys must want to be wearing that neck restraint this season! lol

As for my opinion, yes give Gary at number one stop a call. He also deals with Stennett stuff. really you can’t go wrong with him.

I already bought by head and neck contraption. I don't plan on slowing down. It's going to be a PITA for sure. By the way if any of you see me struggling with this **** give me a hand please.

lol I feel the same way I bought two, knowing I would forget to bring it with me if I was using the other car that day.
I have watched people have to have somebody else help them buckle the straps or whatever, a lot of these races I am by myself not looking forward to this!

Stop is on the way. Thanks for the replies. I already have my head and neck restraint. Had to wear one in TS/heads up stuff for the last few years. FWIW I have a NecksGen RevII and I just leave it attached to my helmet, and prefer a helmet skirt to the head sock and have used both. Just coming back to S/ST after a 10 year hiatus or bump on the head. Will run when we can between heads up stuff. Thanks again.

Stinnett Stop for me . much better than the Max Speed. ATM also makes a very good stop.
