Thanks for the replies. Because there is no dial in requirement to run this class at our track anything goes. Sounds like the really fast dragsters may have trouble slowing down vehicle reaction consistently or going red. And the biggest advantage would be better vision at the stripe. It all goes back to just cut a light and run your number. Everyone may be in panic mode for nothing.

The trick to footbraking a dragster is deep-staging and running high-gear only. Saw Jim Harrington, Roy Hall, and some others do it at the 1st $10K Footbrake at Atco years ago. Told a friend in FL about it. First time he tried it, he won.

That's exactly what happened last week except for the deep staging. Not allowed but he ran it in high gear only. Everyone thought it was because he did not want to disconnect the air shifter mechanism.
