West Palm Race?
Anybody hear what's going on at the only race on the schedule? Is the West Palm race really happening? Jim

Re: West Palm Race?
I recall aprox 20 or so, only 3 SS cars. Who I remember: Truman Fields, Pete Noriega, Scott Demmy, David Lindsay, (I think) Glenn Mace, Harry Morgan. Oh, and Philip Lacy made the trek from KY.
Of course since we've had a drought most of the year, Florida weather decided to piss on things with a downpour @ 3, forcing a long delay. Though unlike last year, the track management is making strides to complete the event this weekend. Class racers took precedence over bracket racers, Q16, and jr.s, forcing them to come back another weekend. This made room for the second S/SS combo time runs last night between the exhibition and TAD cars, with first round still scheduled today. Another observation was traction. During a test pass yesterday afternoon, Paul Smith/Jon Capps F/C experienced tireshake instead of tiresmoke, which was surprising under those weather conditions. Fuel cars in the past would blow the tires away under similar conditions. This new management is really busting their butts, since in the past I've seen far worse traction even under perfect weather conditions. With all the moisture the last 2 weeks, the track surface was not that bad. In summary, inspite of Florida's f**kin' volatile weather, this year is a far cry from last. |

Re: West Palm Race?
That's good to hear that the track takes class racing seriously Gary. What about some times and qualifying? Is there no one there to feed Drag Race Central? Oh wait, this is a Div.2 race. No communications system in this division.

Re: West Palm Race?
Well? Any body know what happened? Damn, I've heard of news blackouts before but this is ridiculous! Seriously, this is the only class race in the whole country this weekend and no information? Great communications, another feather in the Div.2 cap. Jim

Re: West Palm Race?
Well Jim I can tell this about Moroso, When we arrived at the gate will last years tickets we were told that they would not honor last years crew pass. So I had to shell out another $40.00, I had a problem with my car and left on Sunday just as stock and superstock were making their 2nd qualify pass. I'm done with Moroso and so should NHRA.
