Best way to slow a car down ?
Just wondering if anybody has any experience on how to effectivley slowing a car down about 8 tenths to 1 sec. in order to into two classes. The car should run somewhere around 11.8 - 12.0 flat out. looking to slow it down to 12.8 to make the sportsman class brake.

Weight, shift lower, take timing out. That will get you there.

I'd try a restrictor plate under a spacer or disconnect the secondaries or restrict the throttle opening or all of the above.

I'd try a restrictor plate under a spacer or disconnect the secondaries or restrict the throttle opening or all of the above. I took 3 seconds out of a 10 second car by only allowing the carb to open about a third of the way. I put a piece of aluminum on the underside of the pedal.

The best way to do it is install a bolt under the gas pedal, and adjust it to limit full throttle until you get the result your looking for.
