we have used GY's for millions of years..hint hint...but have went to the MT, 10.5 tire and its been quicker to the first cone by tons over the GY's. I know of a few stickshifts that have picked up with the MT's. Your best bet is to try both sets, and see which is better, thats what we did!! Good luck!

The 10.5 is almost a bulletproof choice. I will be running a dot drag radial in GT/GA this year. I figure if it will go 4.97 on the juice, 6.90s will be cake. M/Ts in stock everyday, SullivansTirePlus.com

Grant,
Let me try to explain what Stephen and sq34 said but in a different way. Goodyear hasn't made a good sportsman stick tire that's worth yesterdays ice water in years. M/T is the tire of choice for a stick car in my opinion. There is nobody that puts in more R&D time than M/T on their sportsman drag tires. If you want to spend $1,600 for a set of Pro Stock tires then Goodyear might be worth a couple thousandth in et. I race with the head R&D guy for M/T and he is always testing tires... always. Billy Glidden has a separate engine just for M/T tire testing events. You will not find a better stick tire for the sportsman racer in my opinion.

Can I "borrow" the thread and renew my old question:

I believe this Mickey Thompson tire is no longer available.

3074ST Size 32.0/14.0-15 - M5 Compound

Is there any recommendations to replace this with something else.

Car is SS/C AMX '69.

That tire is still available but may not be in the catalog.
They were making a special run of these tires once a year for Eric Kitchen of Pro Stick.
I suggest calling Aaron Smith at M/T and he will tell you what is available.

Many thanks. We tried 3074S, which is softer L8 compound. Appeared to be too soft. Hope we can get 3074ST again.

I am running Mickey Thompson #3062W 29.5/10.5W-15 M5 compound in my SS/J Rambler. I have never had any problem with those.

located the 3074st tire in 2012 catalog.if you look at the measured rim width, its on a 10 inch rim.WTF.?the 3074s is measured on a 14 inch wheel.i am putting these tires on a 16 inch wide rim.ive spoke to jason at mickey about this, but that was for a 3074s,not the 3074st tire we discussed doing this with....any thoughts? will this make a difference?
thx.grant
