Default TNTSS first ever Memorial Day double header this weekend!

Steve's Electric powers the first western New York double of 2012!

This Friday & Saturday, May 25-26, will see the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series bring the double race weekend back to sportsman drag racers in the western New York / southern Ontario area - including $1000/win on Saturday night!

Friday's event will be on the 1/8th mile at Dunn Tire Raceway Park in Lancaster NY and then it's 1/4 mile action Saturday at Empire Dragway in Leicester NY.

"That's one of the things that makes the TNTSS so competitive and why it produces such solid talent," said Joe Boniferro of Joe's Transmission, the series' title sponsor. "These guys will go from the 1/8 mile to the 1/4 mile and be killer on both!"

The TNTSS has never raced on a Memorial Day weekend before and they couldn't be more excited about having Steve's Electric involved. "It's no secret how Steve McCarrick has supported our efforts for this kind of sportsman series since before the TNTSS began," said Ted Barnes, TNTSS Director. "But what I haven't said is how Steve's family has served the country for three generations in war duties."

Norm, Steve's dad, served in the US Navy during WW 2, Steve in the US Navy Seabees in Vietnam and his son Jamie in the US Army Infantry, with 4 tours in Iraq. "We are so lucky to live in this part of the world and it's people like the McCarrick family that make it possible. That's what is going to make these Memorial Day weekend events standout for 2012, at least for me," added Ted. "I should add that as a previous TNTSS event winner, Steve is already in the 2012 Performance Improvements Race of Champions and he currently sits sixth in the TNTSS championship standings."

Current points leader Mark Herbold will be looking to solidify his position with a decent run at both events. Mark has been very close to a TNTSS championship for two years now, finishing 3rd in 2010 and then 2nd in 2011.

The first of two qualifying sessions will be at 5pm on Friday at DTRP and then at 3pm on Saturday at Empire. Visit www.dunntireracewaypark.com or www.empiredragway.com for more information.
