Re: AHFS at Indy
Indy will always be the Pinnacle.
I don't buy the extra work comment since I thought this was requested by the racer's committee. Jeff? Al Corda |

Re: AHFS at Indy
Charlie, I disagree I have been going to Indy for quite a number of years and having no ahfs there is the best thing nhra has done since the ahfs program was put into effect imo.
There has to be a place to run your car flatout with no penalty or whats the point of building it and what better place than Indy where it means something? The majority of the racers that I talk to , that attend Indy, feel the same way. Just my thoughts. Mike |

Re: AHFS at Indy
I'm with Charlie. Come on man. If you can go better than 120.
You should get hit. Your at Indy in Indy air and can go that fast Indy is run this way to protect " the huge investment in the new cars" Let's be real. It's wat too hard to make old junk run 120. Ain't happening I will stay away until they stop the bs with the shoot out cars Can't make the shoot out You Should Go Home.! New cars rule the super bowl of drag racing Old iron gets pushed aside. Good Luck to all. Indy Is Broken. NEXT

Re: AHFS at Indy
There needs to be a place to see what the cars can run, but they need to be taken apart. At least they could use the portion of the $330 an event they hit us for to find people to enforce rules. We all know we're never getting it back in purses or contingency anymore, so at least it could be spent on a couple more people to check legality.

Re: AHFS at Indy
Why does an event have to exist that is immune from the application of a system that was designed and implemented to correctly and fairly factor combinations?

Re: AHFS at Indy
Paradigm shift, that is a good question.
My short answer is because the system doesn't work. Everyone knows how to project their combo and other than an accident now and then or the need to go fast for a headsup run in eliminations most do protect. Nhra responded to a lot of race racers request that indy be a no bs run it out race like it used to be. I love it and I'll be there. Mike |

Re: AHFS at Indy
Protect their combo from what and from whom? The fans? NHRA?
Those who suffer from these deceptions are undoubtedly fellow racers. Even when turned loose at Indy many competitors still refrain from displaying true performance capabilities. Out of respect for Stock competitors and for the integrity of the Eliminator itself, cars must be factored accurately. |

Re: AHFS at Indy
Protect their combos from hp adjustments. I'm sorry I thought that was obvious.
Of course the racers are the ones that suffer from underfactored combos but they are playing by the rules they were given. I'm 100% in favor of totally fair hp factoring but just like totally fair taxes I don't think it's possible. Lol |
